Aaron Wall: The Picture Not Taken
Read more about the famed pictures not covered in news coverage. A few months ago a lady who works with me told me that her son was in the 101st airborne. She was worried he was going to get sent out, and eventually he did.
A few months ago a lady who works with me told me that her son was in the 101st airborne. She was worried he was going to get sent out, and eventually he did. I had somewhat forgotten about her son until she spoke with me today. She told me her son was there when Saddam Hussein's sons Odai and Qusai were killed.
I do the story little to no justice as I can not describe the story as graphic as she did to I, or he did to her.
Her son told her of the course of action which ended in multiple deaths. The two brothers had no entourage, merely a big fat guard and a young child with them. I was told the child was fourteen, but looked much younger when viewing his bloody body and baby face.
I was also told that 1 soldier was killed in this fighting and that 4 were injured. The truth of the current media must be questioned as her son was hung up on when he started telling his mother of the grave images he saw.
He later called back and tried to talk about less important issues, just so he could continue to talk to his mother. He could not express what was truly on his mind.
The real question is why would I care to put this in an article. I have a couple driving forces in my life. I think the media should represent what really happens. If we aim to deceive our own people, then how pure are our goals?
Here are some basic beliefs I have: taking those pictures is a shame to humanity. To disgrace any life by showing pictures of shot up bodies is wrong. This despicable act will only fuel more terrorists. If I were a borderline terrorist an act such as this would give me the needed motivation to fight back.
When we do things because we can, it does not show the existence of freedom, but more its decay in progress. We only have a certain amount of money and can only place a price on so many heads. Every person we kill will lead to more killing. Every picture we take will only lead to more killing.
Most of our current acts are fear driven. Strike unto others before they can strike unto us. Its no secret that fear does not bring out the best in man. Fear is not life, but its non-existence exasperated with a destructive nature.
As we continue to kill others will want to... eventually everything comes full circle. All this is happening in a time when our media is failing to put heavy coverage on the fact that we sold Iraq most of their biological weapons while they were actively using them on other human beings.
As life does, we can only hope in whatever God may be that the profit margin in death erodes.
As long as we (or the court) elect people like Bush the terrorists have already won as we struggle to define the needs for our new departments and to repeal basic human rights including the right to live.
Vote BUSH 2004
