The battle for Northern Hemisphere Rugby League supremacy takes place next Tuesday night, when the Welsh Dragons take on England in Wrexham.
A 94-year-old battle between the two oldest nations in Rugby League, next week's match will mean a lot to the players involved. Not only is it part of international Rugby League's revival, but it will also decide which players will play in this years Great Britain and Ireland Lions side.
Since Wales won the first Anglo-Celt international 35-18, the match has always been a strong hard encounter. League supporters in Australia may talk about the spirit and passion of Queensland in State of Origin, but it doesn't even rate to that displayed by Wales. The strongest performer from the home nations last World Cup, Wales unofficially are the champions in the United Kingdom. This match however, will prove whether they deserve that title or not.
