For over a thousand years, generations of Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy. Now these legendary warriors are all but extinct. One by one they have been hunted down and destroyed by the sinister agents of the Emperor: the Dark Lords of the Sith.

It is a period of civil wars. Rebel Armies, striking from fortresses hidden deep within the Great Rift, have won a crushing victory over the powerful Imperial Starfleet. The Emperor knows that one more such defeat will bring a thousand more solar systems into the rebellion, and Imperial control of the Outland systems could be lost forever. To crush the rebellion once and for all, the Emperor has sent one of his most ferocious Dark Lords to find the secret rebel strongholds and destroy them...

Anakin stood silently, the Jedi Council had warned of the consequences if a Jedi was to break the rules. He knew he had broken them. Now, it was time to receive his punishment. He looked at Yoda defensively, he didn't deny what he had done, he thought he was right. Marrying Padme was his first mistake; he had done so with out the Councils approval. "Exiled to Bardus he must be, return he should in 10 years", Yoda said, "A Jedi should not know love". Two guards swiftly escorted Anakin to the cruiser. Anakin looked at the cruiser, then he turned and glanced at Coruscant. He wandered if he was ever going to see Padme again. The door of the cruiser lowered onto the ground, Anakin stepped inside. The cruiser was landed on a Jedi platform, the platform that Anakin had first landed on when he was once a little boy. The door of the cruiser closed, making a screeching sound in the process.

The cruiser landed on the rough dry grounds of Bardus. "This is where I'm going to be for the next 10 years," Anakin said to himself quietly. Anakin knew he was going to escape. Somehow he was going to escape. The ship left, without his knowledge, as Anakin started to walk in the opposite direction.

Padme had been standing in the same position for hours. Just then, a handmaiden came, Padme was unaware of her presence. Padme was wandering where Anakin was, she knew Obi Wan had told her that Anakin was exiled, but in her heart she didn't think Obi Wan would let it happen. Maybe, she thought to her self, maybe she was wrong. "Padme, someone is here to see you", her handmaiden, Sabe told her quietly. Padme walked towards the door, each foot step made a noise on the floor, a noise that you could tell that Padme wasn't herself. She put her hand on the doorknob, the doorknob was shining gold, Anakin had chosen it years ago when they were building the house. Finally, after hesitation she opened the door. Obi Wan stood in the door way. "Ben!", she cried out in shock, "Where is Anakin?". Obi Wan replied to Padme, this was the answer that Padme had rejected. "I'm sorry...", Obi Wan said slowly "I couldn't do anything". Tears started to fill Padme's eyes, she raised her right hand and slapped Obi Wan. "I trusted you!", Padme yelled.

Padme knew everything, and everyone in her life she cared all over. She watched sadly as Obi Wan left the room. Padme slowly walked towards her cupboard, she opened the bottom drawer. The cupboard was an antique cupboard. It was made out of wood, and had a carving on it, it said ‘Anakin and Padme’. She stared at the carving for a few seconds, then she took the laser gun that lay inside the drawer. She raised her right hand up to her head. This was the moment she was dreading. She never had wanted to do this, but she felt as if she had to. She placed her finger on the cold, steel trigger and squeezed.

A shot rang out in the room, Obi Wan heard it and quickly ran towards the room. He already knew what had happened before he had reached the room. Obi Wan sprinted towards the room, his legs moving like a cheetah chasing his prey. He saw the dead body lying on the ground. He looked at the newly born twins. He wandered what was to become of them, suddenly he knew what had to be done.

A plan was starting to form in young Anakin's mind. He would escape, and take revenge on Obi Wan. Obi Wan had betrayed him, he was the one who had informed the Jedi Council of his marriage.

Suddenly, a star cruiser landed not far from him. Anakin started walking towards the ship. The ship was not one that he had seen before. It was silver, with a cosmic battle gun attached to the end of it. This was rare, as cosmic battle guns were only attached to a ship in a time of war. What was even more surprising to Anakin, was the fact that there was a Imperial symbol on the side of the cruiser. The door opened slowly, as it hit the ground, two figures started to approach the Jedi.

Anakin instantly realized these people as Count Dooku, and Darth Sidious. Anakin was startled at who the appeared to be. Count Dooku’s eyes scanned the place, then he walked to Anakin, Sidious followed. "Hello Anakin, We’ve come to free you", Dooku told Anakin. "Free me from what?", Anakin questioned. "From the planet, from this filthy desert that you have to spend 10 years on", Count Dooku said to Anakin. "I’m not going with you", Anakin shouted to them, but secretly he wanted to. "Fine, be that way, but you will never see Padme again", Count Dooku said, "You will never take revenge on Obi Wan". At this Anakin turned, he stared at Count Dooku, "What makes you think I want revenge on Obi Wan?", Anakin asked. "You do, I can tell, you fight with hatred, you talk with anger," Sidious started, "And you have the mind of a sith lord". "Sith Lord…", Anakin whispered, "Like you?". "Yes like both of us" Sidious replied. "Come with us", Dooku said cunningly, "And you can witness the power of the dark side".

The galactic space ship cruised by on it's way to Tatoonie. The ship had been traveling for hours, onboard the pilots were starting to grow weary of their task ahead of them. Obi Wan had awaited the Jedi Council's approval for his mission keenly, finally the council showed results. He was to go to Tatoonie and give the 3-month-old baby to Anakin's step brother, Owen Lars.

Anakin, and Padme Amadiala had given birth to two children. Leia and Luke. Padme had chosen these names carefully, after her parents. Anakin was unaware of the children that she gave birth to, she intended to keep it that way. The children would be separated and given to two trusted friends of Obi Wan and the Jedi Council. "Strong the Force is with them", Yoda had said importantly, "Make sure these children will never know of each other, ever", the words ringed in Obi Wan's memory. The mission ahead of him was dangerous, but necessary for the councils protection.

The ship slowly lowered its long, sleek body on to the hot sand of Tatoonie. Obi Wan took one step on the ramp that lead down to the planet floor. He peered out to look at the vast emptiness of the planet, his right hand was placed on top of his eyes to shield him from the 5 suns. Obi Wan moved forward, his shadow casted on to the soft sand, he thought to himself how he wished Qui Gon Jinn had been more aware of the danger that the council had foreseen. No, Qui Gon had to go with his own way, if he had not been so stubborn, Anakin would be with his mother now.

"We have killed all Jedi", said Count Dooku, "You are the last of the Jedi". Dooku sat opposite Anakin, they were all sitting at a table in his ship, and they were on their way to their new space station. "We are offering you a chance," Sidious told Anakin. "Will you join us?", asked Dooku. Anakin thought, he considered this offer seriously, he wanted revenge on the Jedi, especially Obi Wan, but he also wanted to see Padme again. "Thinking about Padme?", Darth Sidious asked, "I’m sorry, but Obi Wan killed Padme". Darth Sidious and Count Dooku had planned this before, they would lie to Anakin, so that he would turn against the Jedi. "No!", Anakin shouted. His eyes were wide open, tears rolled out, and anger filled his face. "Yes, it is true." Count Dooku told Anakin. Anakin jumped up, his head almost hit the roof of the cruiser, "I will vow revenge on Obi Wan, he is my enemy!" said Anakin in a voice that shocked both the sith lords.

Obi Wan approached the small house, he would give Luke to Owen and leave the planet as fast as possible. Just then, the sound of an approaching space ship was heard in the sky, Obi Wan immediately looked up, he was careful that nobody followed him from Corusunt, now he would have to be extra cautious that nobody saw him. Obi Wan was unaware of the attack that took place when he was on his ship, he didn’t know that he was the last remaining Jedi. Obi Wan knocked once on the door, Owen opened the door, his wife Beru was behind him. "It's time", Obi Wan quietly told Owen. The Jedi Council had previously arranged for this to happen, the Lars agreed with them. Obi Wan quickly left after delivering the baby to Owen, he had not conversed with the Lars as it was best if he left as soon as he could. Obi Wan stepped inside his spacecraft, he signaled to the pilots that they could leave. Obi Wan did not leave with them. He was going to stay here on Tatoonie. He cursed himself for what happened, he had not done anything to stop Anakin from being exiled, it was his fault.

The cruiser carrying Dooku, Sidious, and Skywalker was close to it’s destination. Suddenly an alarm rang out, "Hey, what’s that sound?", Dooku asked the captain. "It’s the gravitational force of the Death Star, its crushing the motors!", the captain shouted to Count Dooku. The ship was out of control. The captain tried desperately to stop the ship from heading into the Death Star. The ship started to violently move closer the Death Star, it was shaking like an earthquake. The ship finally hit the Death Star, causing an explosion to occur.

It all happened to quickly for Anakin to recall. He remembered that he was severely injured, and that he would have to wear a machine over his body for the rest of his life. He stood up, he looked at himself in a mirror. He was wearing an all black suit, with bulky chest plates, and a huge helmet. A nurse dressed in black was there to assist Anakin. Lying on the bed next to him was Dart Sidious. He face was swollen, but he was not as injured as Anakin. Anakin looked at the Sidious’ new face in disgust. His face somehow resembled Senator Palpatine. The veins on Sidious’ face stood out most, he face was pale, and his pupil in his eye no longer existed. Anakin reached to take off his helmet, but a nurse told him not to, as oxygen would destroy Anakin’s face. Anakin questioned the nurse as to what happened to Count Dooku. "Count Dooku…..he is no longer living" he remembered the nurse saying. Anakin started to walk towards the mirror. He peered at his reflection. He decided that he would not be Anakin Skywalker anymore. He would be a new person. He would lead a new life. He would call himself…

Darth Vader.
