Liv Tyler's Mother Tells it How it Is
Bebe Buell, one time mate of Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler and longtime rock groupie, reveals some juicy tidbits in her memoirs.
Buell is not only the former "girlfriend" of Steven Tyler and mother of young star Liv, but a former Playboy Playmate, former Ford model, and one time manager for her daughter. Her memoirs, published in the book "Rebel Heart: An American Rock and Roll Journey," will reveal aspects of her wild life as well as some of the details of some famous Rock n' Roll and Hollywood dignitaries.
Among the notable names included in the work are Warren Beatty, Jack Nicholson, Mick Jagger, Jimmy Page, Elvis Costello, David Bowie, and the boys from Aerosmith. Buell's life is certainly fodder for a great read, with Cameron Crowe recently revealing that the character played by Kate Hudson in his movie "Almost Famous," was based, in part, on Buell. That character, a groupie with an uncanny understanding of life for one so young, no doubt matches Buell's fun-loving but highly spiritual persona.
At one point in the book, Buell reveals that when she met Liv's father he was 29 years old and dating a 15-year-old. "I was the older woman," she notes, "and I was only 23!" Also included in the Tyler chapter of her life and book is an explanation of how Liv believed until she was 10 that Todd Rundgren was her father. Buell had actually left Tyler due to his drug addiction, but when Liv eventually learned of her true paternity, changed her name.
