Lance Armstrong - The person who survived cancer

After a great victory over cancer. Today with a record sixth win in Tour De France race; Lance Armstrong stands tallest among the best of the best. Lance has created a history by becoming six times Tour De France champion, and that too in a row. Lance is not only a sportsman, but he is an example for those who are fighting deadly disease "Cancer".
In my previous articles regarding various types of cancer, I explained most of the possible treatments that a cancer patient can undergo in order to fight the disease. Here I would like to discuss an example of how anyone suffering from cancer can survive with the help of a combination of different treatments. Lance Armstrong, who survived cancer is an example for those who are carrying cancer and want to give a good fight back to the deadly disease and live life their own way.

It takes a great deal of confidence, willingness, determination and endurance to do anything in this world, and patients living with cancer need exactly the same power packed bunch to fight the disease and survive.

Lance Armstrong was 25 when he had won a couple of titles and championships, Armstrong was one who seemed to be invincible on the TRACK, when he heard the report confirmation that he was carrying cancer. He was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Testicular Cancer. Even after that, Lance ignored his cancer and the cancer was spread to his lungs, abdomen and the other parts of the body. Day by day his chances of surviving started dimming. Soon after realizing the condition, Lance decided to give a fight back to the disease. Lance displayed Great Spirit and willingness to come over the disease. Lance underwent two surgeries to remove his cancerous testicles and cancerous lesions on his brain. Lance also received a round of BEP (Bleomycin, Etoposide and Platinol) chemotherapy, followed by three rounds of VIP chemotherapy (Ifostamide, Etoposide and Platinol). Lance also faced the problem of metastases (which is a form of cancer caused by the spread of cancer cells from other cancer-affected organs). Lance was also diagnosed with the lung and brain cancer (as a result of metastases; spread of cancer cells from his original Testicular cancer), and he had to undergo additional treatment for the same.

Lance's complete recovery from cancer was a miracle but it was a result of his determination. Lance chose option of life and started living strong; today he is not a victim of the deadly disease but a survivor and is living at his best. With his attitude, confidence and aggressive treatment, Lance was able to beat the disease.

Today with a record sixth win in Tour De France race; Lance Armstrong stands tallest among the best of the best. Lance has created a history by becoming six times Tour De France champion, and that too in a row.

People should take motivation from such a person who had nearly lost his life, but just because of his willpower and confidence, he could bring life back from the jaws of death. If a person is diagnosed of cancer, he/she should not worry or get scared of the disease, getting diagnosed by cancer does not mean that it is an end. If Lance Armstrong had accepted his defeat, he wouldn't have been able to write a history.

You just need to follow proper steps so that you can give a strong fight to the disease. Do visit and consult your physician for proper guidance. Take a proper diet and do not forget to exercise for about four to five hours a week. Stay away from tobacco, cigarette, liquor etc. Choose to live not to die.
