The ultimate road trip ( Part II)

If you could choose just one college football game to attend this year, which one would it be? We couldn't decide either so we planned a 15 week, 37 game, fantasy road trip.
It's October now and we're 16 games into the trip. In Part 1 of our story on the Ultimate Road Trip, we've been to 12 states and driven through and flown over countless others. Now we head into the meat of the trip.

There are 21 games remaining -- meaningful games, rivalries, games that could decide conference titles, and games with serious bowl and Heisman trophy implications. With that said, let's get started with the second half of our trip.

October 4 - Colorado State at Louisville This is our second time watching Ragone and Louisville and Colorado State. These teams must love Thursday night football.

October 5 - Utah State at BYU We'll get our trip to Utah in before the snow flies -- hopefully.

October 6 - Virginia Tech at West Virginia The best battle in this game could be WVU WR A.J. Nastasi versus Virginia Tech beat writer, Shawn Spence.

October 11 - Clemson at N.C. State This will be our only chance to see Woody Dantzler in the regular season. He'll be facing three of last year's returning DB's for the Wolfpack.

October 13 - Miami at Florida State What an intrastate rivalry this one is! Miami is still upset about last year's BCS snub. This one could be a classic.

October 16 - Southern Mississippi at Louisville If Ragone wins or comes close to winning the Heisman, no one will be upset about three trips to Louisville.

October 20 - USC at Notre Dame Trojans versus Irish. If you're going to see a game at Notre Dame stadium -- this is the one.

October 25 - West Virginia at Miami Can Rich Rodriguez pull off the upset on the road? It will be tough, but we're pulling for the 'Eers.

October 27 - Oklahoma at Nebraska This should be a preview of the Big 12 title game. We'll let this game speak for itself.

October 30 - East Carolina at TCU Tuesday night? Are you kidding me? It doesn't get any better than this.

November 1 - North Carolina at Georgia Tech QB George Godsey can probably already hear All-American, Julius Pepper's footsteps.

November 3 - Michigan at Michigan State Spartan Stadium will be rocking when cross-state rival Michigan comes to town. T.J. Duckett and friends want to avenge last year's 14-0 loss to the Wolverines.

November 6 - Western Michigan at Toledo These MAC West rivals were a combined 19-4 last year. They also return 16 of the 22 starters on the defensive side of the ball, so don't expect a lot of points.

November 8 - Air Force at Colorado State Last year, Air Force gained 400 yards rushing and scored 44 points against the Rams. If Coach, Sonny Lubbick can stop the ground attack we expect a CSU victory this year.

November 10 - Oregon at UCLA The Ducks travel to the Rose Bowl and a victory here could clinch the PAC 10 title.

November 15 - Louisville at East Carolina This will be our fourth game watching the Cardinals. I think we can call the plays now.

November 17 - Florida State at Florida This is what college football is all about. It could be the game of the year in The Swamp.

November 23 - Texas at Texas A&M We can't wait to see Chris Simms. And Major Applewhite may be the best backup QB in the country. We should see some fireworks in College Station.

November 24 - Air Force at Hawaii We'll spend Thanksgiving weekend in Hawaii. We might go to the game. My wife might even want to make this trip.

November 30 - TCU at Southern Mississippi This is a rematch of last year's Mobile Alabama Bowl. Southern Miss won that one 28-21. We're hoping for another close one here.

December 1 - Army versus Navy at Philadelphia Hopefully this one will be for the Commander in Chief's Trophy. The margin of victory in this game has been no more than four points in two of the last five years. We expect another close one.

Bowls As the bowl picture becomes clearer throughout the season, we'll decide which games to attend over the holidays. We'll make that addition to your itineraries at a later date. For now, just sit back and enjoy the trip. There may not be another like it until next August.
