The Truth Behind Free Investment Seminars
Ever wondered why the investing seminar that promises so much is free. What should you be looking for in an investment system or methodology. And how can you gauge the success of such a system.
Throughout my time as an investment mentor and coach I have always heard stories about how people attended a seminar (usually a free seminar) or read a book and believed that this information was enough to make money out of the share market. Needless to say they ended up loosing money in the markets.
Seminars are usually run to benefit the people running them if you have to pay or to get your contact details if it’s free. Before attending your next seminar firstly check to see if the person was rich before they started running seminars and secondly realise that if it’s free they are not going to tell you anything that’s life changing.
This is especially true for making money on the share market. For some reason a lot of people think it is easy to make money on the share market. Well it is. But that is after you know what you are doing and have a fair amount of experience in doing it.
You would not think about flying a plane or driving a car after attending a seminar or reading a book would you? The ramifications of doing so would be to crash and burn.
So why would so many intelligent people think the share market is any different? Most people lose money on the share market for the simple reason that they lack the experience and know how on how to make money.
You must start with an understanding about how to make money in the share market. That provides you with the intellectual content of how to make the money. Things that you should look for are how to make a trading plan, how to properly identify trends, how to select the best shares a well explained risk management system etc. Information like this will enable you to develop a system or method for you to personally invest on the share market.
It may sound like a lot of work but in the greater scheme of things it really isn’t and it will save you a lot of heartache.
But before you start to invest test the method and test it again so that you can see whether it works or whether you are able to use it effectively. Next make sure you get all the experience you need to be successful before you put real money in the real market.
While gaining experience you should be continuously measuring and monitor your rate of return to make sure it is consistently improving and doing much better than the average.
After taking the time to do this and it may take 6 months or longer then you will be confident in your abilities and more importantly you will know how to make money.
