Christie Brinkley’s Apology

Brinkley, 52, announced earlier this month that she was separating from her husband of 10 years. No official reason was given for the separation at first, but it was soon revealed that Cook, 47, had had an affair with his now 19-year old assistant. Cook ‘s lawyer, Norman Shereksy, released a statement from Cook to the New York Post that read, "I love my wife. I have loved her since the day I met her. Please…I love her. For a lifetime, I’ve tried to prove how much I love her. This is an aberration. I’m sorry. I’m contrite. I’m stupid. Foolish. No excuse."

Reportedly, Cook first met 18-year old Diana Bianchi while she was working at a toy store in Southampton. He offered her a job as his personal assistant and the two eventually entered into a romantic relationship that lasted for about a year. Bianchi now says she feels as if Cook took advantage of her and plied her with gifts and money. Her lawyer is looking into the possibility of a sexual harassment case. Shereksy has reportedly said that Cook denies any wrongdoing and said of the affair, "U took no advantage."

After his relationship with Bianchi was revealed, pop singer Samantha Cole came forward and claimed the two had an affair ten years ago when she was 18. She said she broke it off with Cook and less than a month later he was engaged to Brinkley. Brinkley has yet to comment on the separation, the affairs, or the apology. Her lawyer, Elliot Mintz, reportedly said, "This is not the way for people to have a discourse or a discussion about private matters." Cook reportedly wants to "make it up to (Christie) for the rest of his life." No word yet on whether or not Brinkley has any interest in that idea!
