Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall: Siren Squabble on Sex and the City?

Rumors have surfaced lately that the set of Sex and the City is not nearly as close-knit and amiable as the onscreen relationships of the main characters Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall.
Every week we tune in to follow the lives of our four favorite vixens on HBO and we're usually left with a warm and fuzzy feeling about how they've muddled through that week's romantic tribulations with a little help from each other. Some insiders close to the smash show, however, claim that the girls' friendships turn off with the cameras. The reasons behind why the show's stars have cooled toward one another vary, but as always, money and fame are at the core of the rumored problems.

Sarah Jessica Parker rakes in about $3 million from the show, just about double what the other cast members bring in. So, there's the first possible reason for tension on the set. Imagine if Rachel made twice as much as Monica -- never! Others close to the show have stated that Kim Cattrall's increasing popularity among the show's viewers and her increased presence in the show's plot lines have ruffled Parker's feathers a bit. Seems possible. After all, Cattrall's character, Samantha, is naked in nearly every episode. That's hard to ignore.

Kristen Davis, in a recent interview, implied that Cattrall is just as willing to take it off in public and has developed a diva mentality on the set. "I went to the fitness club with her once," said Davis. "We're in the spa area, and I'm in my bathing suit and Kim is butt-naked, walking around and striking up conversations with people." Of course, publicists for the show and the actresses deny the existence of any tension among the women.
