Darren Gough knee injury has now seen him ruled out of the second Test against India as well as the first which begins at Lord's tomorrow.

The Yorkshire pace bowler pulled out of the team on Monday when he suffered pain and stiffness in his right knee during the Roses match at Headingley.

He saw a specialist yesterday and underwent a scan that revealed no further damage, the England and Wales Cricket Board said in a statement. His knee, however, was still inflammed and he was advised to rest for two weeks.

Gough, 31, has not played Test cricket since last summer's Ashes series. After refusing to go on the Test tour of India, he was initially left out of the party for the three-Test series in New Zealand.

He was subsequently called out to New Zealand, but broke down in the final match of the one-day series prior to the Tests, and required surgery as a result.
