Mystikal’s Rape Charges

The rape reportedly took place on July 3rd at the rapper’s residence. A hair stylist who worked for him arrived at his home to braid his hair. Allegedly, Mystikal then accused the woman of stealing money from him by cashing unauthorized checks that were written by one of his associtates. He then allegedly commanded her to "get into the bedroom and take [her] clothes off." The woman said in the report that she was afraid and did what he ordered, including performing oral sex on him.

At that point, he called two friends, Leland Ellis and Vercy Carter, to come to his house and join him. Ellis videotaped the rapper having intercourse with the woman. She also claims that his assault of her continued after the tape was turned off. Reportedly the camera was turned on again while Ellis and Carter took turns raping the victim. She pressed charges on July 4th and told the police about the incriminating video and a search produced the tape. However, Mystikal gave detectives an affidavit signed on July 4 by the woman, saying she had consensual sex with all three men. Just six days later, the woman said she was coerced into signing the affidavit and wanted to press charges. Mystikal and friends now face lifetime imprisonment if convicted of aggravated rape and the extortion charge carries a maximum of 10 years.

Mystikal broke through with his Grammy nominated "Shake Ya Ass." He better watch that ass if he ends up in jail. He is currently out on $250,000 bond. Reps for the rapper say his concerts will still stand for July and August despite the arrest. Doesn’t anyone learn? Videotaping a crime is just not a good idea. Hello Mystikal! Remember R. Kelly?!
