Sex and the City and a Baby

Sex and the City’s fifth season debuted Sunday night with the girls back on the playing field and Miranda feeling sidelined by motherhood.
In the season opener, Carrie is back questioning life and love, Charlotte is trying to come to terms with being single again, Samantha is trying to cope with Richard’s infidelity, and Miranda is dealing with aching nipples and an overwhelming sense of being out of the loop.

One has to wonder how the dynamic of the show will change with the introduction of little Brady Hobbes. It could go either way. It could be a breath of fresh air or the downfall of a once kicky and cutting edge show. Will they be able to incorporate diapers, "onesies," and teething rings along with Jimmy Choo shoes, Fendi Bags and Monolo Blahniks?

Sarah Jessica Parker’s pregnancy caused a bit of a dilemma with the producers/writers of the show. To write the pregnancy in the show or to not write the pregnancy into the show - that was the question. Ultimately, they decided against it and cut the season from thirteen episodes down to eight and disguised Parker’s ever growing belly. So much for low riders and belly-baring tops. Cynthia Nixon recently announced that she too is expecting in real life. Her pregnancy will not affect any shooting time. There has also been talk of Kim Catrall and her hubby wanting to adopt a child. Seems baby fever has hit the set of Sex and the City…don’t drink the water.
