Just a few days ago it was announced that Navarro and his wife of almost three years, Carmen Electra, were separating. Electra’s rep released the following statement, "They are amicably separating." No official reason was given for the split, but rumors began to circulate. One rumor was that Navarro has been living with his new girlfriend socialite Sarah Howard for the past five months and as for Electra she is just "too wrapped up in her career to care."

Not so, says Navarro. On his Website he wrote, "So, there are a few questions that I am willing to address. These I’ll answer, but I am not taking any others. I figure it’s better to say something here than anywhere else. Do you have a girlfriend? No. I have been living at home, touring, making and promoting a record or shooting Rock Star for the past several months. There is absolutely no way I could be living with someone in New York. What does amicably separated mean? It means that Carmen and I love each other, we are and always will be best friends. In fact, we are supporting each other through this time. What better way to get through a touch spot than with your best friend? And that’s that."

Navarro and Electra were married in November 2003 and have no children. Their engagement and marriage were documented for the MTV reality series Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen + Dave. A source close to the couple claims that distance has been their downfall. Apparently, the couple has been spending a lot of time apart with Electra on location filming her new movie I Want Candy and Navarro playing gigs with his new band Camp Freddy and hosting Rock Star: Supernova. A source said, "The bottom line is, they love each other but realized the marriage wasn’t working."
