Hit Me With This Razor

This is about not realizing that a loved one is gone.
Hit me with this razor,
right on the wrist,
it seems like your here,
but you are so missed,
these memories of us,
they won't seem to fade away,
I just feel like I'll see you in a couple days.

When he told me the words,
those tragic syllables,
they hit me slowly,
and as the day went on,
they hit me even slower,
then finally,
when the next day came,
you weren't there at the hospital,
where you've been for a while.

On this here painful day,
the minutes keep going by,
slower and slower,
hoping that you'll just come home.

This tragic loss hasn't hit me yet,
so hit me with this razor,
right on the wrist,
it seems like you're here,
but inside you're so missed.
