Give Way to the Darkness

Sometimes everyone feels depressed and alone…
The sun will not rise today
it has finally given way, to the darkness
the darkness that makes the light pay
needing to let go of this hate and bitterness
we cannot bring back the sun
for all is dead and all is lost
the darkness has given our lives a toss
into the pit of Hell for we are done
our lives are lost but not our souls
because we paid our fines and paid our tolls
we searched and traveled and wasted our lives
looking where love and truth really lie
never finding the sun so we say our goodbyes
