Ashton Kutcher "Punk’d?"
Famous prankster Ashton Kutcher is threatening to sue the Evening Standard, an English newspaper, over fabricated quotes about his relationship with Demi Moore.
Kutcher’s rep says the paper falsified an interview in which Kutcher said Moore "was the hottest actress in Hollywood when I was growing up. Now I am f***ing her." It seems like the punker has been punk’d and he is none too happy about it. Kutcher wants the tabloid to print a retraction and issue an apology for the phony interview in its July 7 issue or he will explore his legal options.
Kutcher did complete an interview with journalist Jane Bussman for an article that was published in a British magazine, The Face. At the time of the interview, according to Kutcher’s rep Matt Labov, Kutcher and Moore were not even dating yet. Bussman, who also wrote the piece for Evening Standard, denies including the questionable comments in the editorial. Bussman released a statement saying, "In 14 years of interviewing people I have never utterly fabricated quotes put in my work before. I’m particularly furious it happened when I wasn’t around to see. I’ve already asked the Evening Standard to print an apology."
Bussman has since stated that the editors from the Evening Standard asked her to get juicy tid-bits from Kutcher about the relationship with Moore. She refused and "the Evening Standard added fabricated quotes and distorted the piece entirely." Kutcher and Moore have been hot and heavy for the past few months, despite the 15-year age difference. There are some that believe the romance is in itself a fabrication to boost Moore’s star status as she re-enters the limelight! Whatever the case, the two have certainly gained the interest of the media. Everyone in Hollywood will tell you that any publicity is good publicity…
