Motor Racing: Hamilton's First-lap Crash Lets in Glock

Lewis Hamilton had an unusual bad day at the office at Mgny-Cours and his GP2 championship lead was cut to 17 points.
A disastrous race for Lewis Hamilton saw the Briton's lead in the GP2 championship drop from 21 to 17 points.

Hamilton made a poor start from fourth on the grid at Magny-Cours and ran into the back of another car at the hairpin.

A pit stop for repairs dropped Hamilton to the back of the field, from where he made little progress and finished nineteenth.

Adam Carroll fared little better, starting from sixth and also becoming involved in a first-lap collision that necessitated a pit stop.

Carroll rejoined a lap behind and finished twentieth and last.

The race was won by the Austrian, Timo Glock.
