Lighthouse

I just love lighthouses, ergo; I wrote this poem.
From out the pitch black of night
There comes a sign to guide me.
The brilliance of its stark light
Brings me safely to the shore.

Standing upon the rocky crags
The lighthouse draws me nearer.
The light that draws, tows, drags
And brings me safely to the shore.

How long have you been waiting there
To guide such lost ones as I?
Keeping guard here and everywhere
To bring us safely to the shore.

It looks lonely there where you remain
Counting all the days gone by.
In weather fair and in the rain
You bring us safely to the shore.
