Woman Calls 911 to Ask for a Cutie Pie
An Oregon woman who dialed 911 to ask for a "cute" police officer to return to her home won’t be courted; she’ll be in court.

A few minutes later Dudash dialed 911 again and said that she wanted to see the "cutie pie" deputy again. Thompson said the dispatcher was understandably startled by the request. "He's the cutest cop I've seen in a long time. I just want to know his name," Dudash told the dispatcher. "Heck, it doesn't come very often a good man comes to your doorstep."
The dispatcher listened to her a bit longer, then paused and asked again why Dudash needed the deputy to return to her house. "Honey, I'm just going to be honest with you, OK?" Dudash said. "I just thought he was cute. I'm 45 years old and I'd just like to meet him again, but I don't know how to go about doing that without calling 911." She underscored the ridiculousness of her request by saying, "I know this is absolutely not in any way, shape or form an emergency, but if you would give the officer my phone number and ask him to come back, would you mind?"
Thompson said it was the first case he’s heard of where a citizen called the emergency line for such an obviously personal reason. "That’s taking up valuable time from dispatchers who could be taking true emergency calls," he said.
Dudash got her wish, because the same deputy did return to her house a few minutes later. After verifying that there was no emergency, he arrested her for misusing the 911 system. If convicted, Dudash will face a fine of up to several thousand dollars and possibly a year in jail.
