Nannie

This I wrote to my deceased grandmother who raised me.
How I miss your smile and

The knowledge that you are near.

I know that you are with God,

But I long to have you here.

The pain you endured

I would not ask you to repeat,

Or endure once more for me.

What a glorious day ‘twill be

When your face again I see.
