Since she left her position, or was fired, as co-host of The View Star Jones Reynolds has been on a whirlwind media frenzy telling anyone and everyone who will listen her side of the story. Reynolds has most recently stated that she is not looking to have a "war of words" with her former boss and mentor Barbara Walters despite having recently claimed in interviews that Walters "didn’t have her back."
Reynolds has appeared in numerous venues stating how she feels "betrayed" that her contract was not renewed for the tenth season of The View. She also has issue with the fact that Rosie O’Donnell, who has always been very vocal about her negative feelings about Reynolds, was asked to co-host The View only days after she was told her contract would not be renewed. Reynolds claimed the timing was "strange."
Reynolds recently said, "I will not denigrate Ms. Walters. That’s not who I am. I have learned from that woman…as much about television as I did about the law from my mentor, the late Johnnie Cochran." Walters has said that she felt "betrayed" by the fact that Reynolds prematurely announced her departure on the show and by the remarks that Reynolds has since made about the fact that she feels as if she had been fired from the show. Now there is no turning back. Reynolds was asked to leave the show immediately instead of ending her co-hosting duties in July. She has been on the media circuit and says she is now ready to move on. Reynolds reportedly said during a recent interview that she would not discuss the matter any longer and said, "I’ve made some mistakes, I’ve grown and I’m moving on to the next step in my career."
