Houston & Brown Marriage Woes

Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston have confirmed that they have been going to a marriage counselor in an attempt to save their marriage.
The troubled union of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown hit an all-time low last Christmas after Brown and Houston had an argument that led to Brown hitting Houston. Police responded to a domestic abuse call at the Houston-Brown household last December. When they arrived on the scene they found Houston with a bruised cheek and a cut upper lip. Brown had reportedly taken off for the airport. Despite the fact that Houston stated she wanted to work out matters with Brown privately, he was arrested and charged with battery.

Last month a judge ruled that Brown would have to stand trial for the alleged beating. He faces up to a year in a Georgia prison and a $1,000 fine. If he agrees to counseling, there is a chance that the charge will be dismissed. Brown admits that after the incident last December, he knew that they needed marriage counseling to save their twelve-year union. After his stints in jail for multiple probation violations and failure to pay child support and her release from a rehab program they decided to work on their marriage. Brown said, "We’re doing really good. I think we’re having better times now than we’ve had in a long time."

Brown says the fight in December was over Houston trying to get him to take his bipolar medication. He claims that after he stopped doing drugs he did not want to take any medication. The couple has endured many hard times since their marriage in 1992. Many people were shocked when Houston and Brown were married. They are still hanging in there, but one has to wonder how long it will last. Maybe marriage counseling is what they need.
