Jolie said in a news conference, "There is nothing in the air. The focus is the kids, and we are obviously extremely committed to the children and as parents together. So that kind of says it for us, and to have a ceremony on top of it is nothing." Pitt has already adopted Jolie's two oldest children Maddox 4, and Zahara, 1. Now they have added little Shiloh to their brood. Do they really need to get married? Or is it just a ruse to foil the press?
Pitt and Jolie welcomed their first child together, Shiloh Nouvel, on May 27. They made their first public appearance together since the birth on Wednesday and thanked the residents of Namibia. Said Pitt, "We have been able to have a very special, peaceful time for our family here, exploring your country and more importantly helping with the delivery of our daughter Shiloh. So, for that we are eternally grateful."
Why the decision to give birth in Africa? Jolie said, "We both had traveled to Africa and loved this part of the world.' She also has said, "People were shocked that we chose to come here, and they thought we were putting our child's life in danger. But we did our homework about Namibia. We want to tell the world how magnificent this country and the people are." Pitt added, "We had top-notch medical care. We could not have received better medical care even in America." Jolie's doctor was flown to Namibia to perform the cesarean section. The Pitt-Jolie's are set to leave Africa in a few days so Pitt can begin filming on Ocean's Thirteen.
