If, like this writer, you have never suffered from allergies, and have seen the countless television advertisements of the - equally countless - pharmaceutical companies peddling their allergy elixirs, which boast a most impressive array of just about every manner of seemingly unpleasant side-effect, you may with good reason well wonder if these medications are worth all of the fuss. Are, for example, abdominal pains, fits of vomiting and other nasty complications really a fair price to pay for relief from sneezing? Better to be able to "enjoy" the great outdoors while doubled-over in a field of flowers writhing in pain than not at all? For most allergy sufferers, the answer is "yes".
