R. Kelly Scandal Continues
A fourth salacious lawsuit has been brought against singer R. Kelly by Montina "Tina" Woods, a dancer who has toured with Kelly.
Woods admits to having sex with the singer at his recording studio, Chicago Trax. She claims he videotaped the entire incident, including her dancing nude and performing sex acts for him, without her consent. The suit also alleges that Kelly was "negligent by failing to prevent the graphic footage from being copied and, together with other purported Kelly sex tapes, consolidated into a single videotape that has widely circulated via the Internet and underground distributors in such cities as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Atlanta.
Woods seeks $50,000 in damages and the suit also names Chicago Trax Studios for allegedly knowing about Kelly’s activities but fails to name Jive Records, Kelly’s label. Woods stated that her "performance" on the videotape might possibly cost her work on future dancing gigs. R. Kelly Triple X, as the sex tape is known on the streets, appeared about three months ago. Reportedly there is the segment featuring Woods as well as another of Kelly with a 14-year old girl who was identified as the teenage niece of Sparkle, a singer who collaborated with Kelly on his 1998 hit "Be Careful." Apparently, he didn’t heed his own words.
Woods is the fourth woman to sue Kelly, a fifth settled out of court before she filed suit. Three girls alleged statutory rape since they were underage at the time of the encounters and Woods claims invasion of privacy. Two of the lawsuits brought by underage girls who claimed they were coerced into having sex with singer have been settled. Another stating Kelly seduced her, got her pregnant and pressured her into having an abortion is still pending. Kelly has reportedly said, "I’ve done a lot of wrong things in my life, but I’m not a criminal, I’m not a monster."
