The Spellings Hit Back
The Spelling family has called Tori Spelling's comments following her father Aaron's death "mean-spirited and surprising."

A statement issued by the Spelling family was released Thursday by family rep Kevin Sasaki. The statement read, "We are deeply saddened that, during our time of loss and grief, we are forced to respond to the media frenzy caused by the mean-spirited and surprising comments made by Tori to the press, just two days after the passing of Aaron." The statement goes on to read, "Aaron's legacy deserved pure and unadulterated tribute and recognition which, sadly, has been tainted."
TV mogul Spelling passed away last Friday at the age of 83. Shortly after his death, Tori spoke out about the family feud and blamed her mother for the rift. Tori claims that her mother didn't even call her to tell her that her father had passed away, but she learned it from an email from a friend. She also alluded to an alleged affair her mother was having with close family friend Mark Nathanson, while her father's health deteriorated saying "an outside party wedged this close family apart." Candy Spelling has slammed the rumors and says she and Nathanson are just friends.
Tori saw her father for the first time in nine-months one-week before his death. She said she was glad she had reconciled with him, but feels she was mislead as to how sick he really was and claims she never got to say good-bye to her father. Tori has refused to comment on her family's statements. Judging from her past, it seems that Tori doesn't always make the best choices. It certainly was one way to go, airing the family's dirty laundry so close to her father's passing. But hey she did land the magazine cover...does that count for something?
