Halle Berry’s Ugly Divorce

The divorce is turning into a bitter battle between Berry and Benet. He is using anything he can to demand as much money as he can from Berry. After only 32 months of marriage, Berry and Benet separated because he cheated countless times on his wife. Shortly after they were married, Benet sought treatment for a sex addiction and Berry has stated that he cheated on her with numerous women.

A source close to Berry says, "Eric has demanded insane amounts of money to maintain his lifestyle." He is even going so far to use his daughter, India, to get more money. The source adds, "He’s telling Halle that India, too, is starting to suffer because she was taken out of that lifestyle so abruptly." Berry became very close to India, whose biological mother died in a car accident when she was a toddler, after she began dating Benet. Berry has remained close with India despite the impending divorce saying, "I’m all she’s got as far as a mother goes. It feels as if she is my own; she calls me Mommy."

Benet has threatened Berry by limiting her visitation with India if she doesn’t pay more money. Sources say that Berry has given in repeatedly to Benet’s "scare tactics" but she has had enough. Especially since, in recent weeks, his demands have spun out of control. On June 1, Benet filed papers in Los Angeles Superior Court questioning the validity of his prenuptial agreement. Sources close to Berry say that she hopes a fair-minded judge can see through his tactics and not award him any money. Too bad that the one who will probably suffer the most is India.
