Snoop Dogg Files for Divorce
Rapper Snoop Dogg filed for divorce from his wife Shante Broadus in Los Angeles, citing "irreconcilable differences."
Rapper Snoop Dogg, born Calvin Broadus, has filed for divorce after seven years of marriage and three children from wife Shante. Snoop filed the papers with Los Angeles courts on Friday citing the standard Hollywood line "irreconcilable differences." They have been married since 1997 and have three children together: Corde, 9; Cordell, 7; and Cori, 4. Snoop is reportedly seeking joint custody of the children.
Snoop’s attorney, Robert Nachshin, said Monday, "The only thing I can say is Mr. Broadus hopes that the divorce can be as amicable as possible." Snoop can only hope this is the case. The "Gin and Juice" singer has made a fortune since appearing on the scene ten years ago, rapping about such things as street violence, marijuana, and sex. Since his rapping days, he has broadened his horizons and done some acting in films and television, including MTV’s Doggy Fizzle Televizzle comedy show. He has recently ventured into the porn industry. He has hosted a number of porn films that were reportedly filmed in his own backyard and has branched out with other sexually explicit material involving the Girls Gone Wild franchise.
Maybe his penchant for "girls gone wild" and has led to the demise of his marriage. He even decided to quit smoking marijuana to set a better example for his kids, but that ended. He is now living in a "puff of smoke" and living the "high life." One can only hope that he straightens himself out before his kids adopt a similar lifestyle.
