Is Terry Butcher an idiot

Terry Butcher claimed that Beckham should have been dropped against Ecuador.

Hasn’t Beckham proved time and time again that he is a world class player, the undisputed best taker of set pieces in the world? So why on earth would you drop someone of that calibre? Obviously this makes Terry Butcher look like he's an idiot!

Like all those other idiots that want to appear controversial by saying something that goes against the grain, for the sake of it and trying to make a name for them selves.

Butchers reason for dropping Beckham was that he hadn’t performed to his usual standard in previous games. Even if this were true, when Beckham has an off day, he still puts in a magnificent performance by any standard, as do most of the England team.

The fact is that when you look at games won, Sven Goran Eriksson is the most successful England manager this country has ever had, and is likely to have. He knows his players and instils belief in them by sticking by them when they may not be at peak performance. With Beckham, Eriksson has proved a good judge of character, a brilliant man manger and a world class Football coach.

When will the idiots learn - that true England fans keep the faith in their team, we are right behind them win or loose. They will do their best for their country and we know it.
