All This Pain ~part 4~

The most ancient of vampires believe that Faith is their fallen queen. So they begin to haunt her dreams. When they take her prisoner, it is up to her vampiric boyfriend, Kristofer, to save her.
All This Pain ~part 4~
I was shaken roughly awake by Kristofer. "What’s wrong? Why are you screaming that you love me?" he asked. "What? I was really saying that out loud?" "Yeah, I walked in hear and your saying ‘I am in love with Kristofer’ and then you start screaming." "Screaming? Like…screaming?" "Yeah. No words screaming." "Oh man, I had the most messed up dream! Some guy tried to convince me that I was a Queen, and that I had to come and be with him." "What? Are you sure that’s what it was?" "Yes, of course I’m sure! It was so freaky! Why would you doubt me?" "Faith, this is really bad! You have to stop dreaming about this stuff now!"

"What is the problem? They’re just dreams! It’s not like I’m really a vampire or anything." "What? You never said anything about being changed into a vampire! Did they change you?" "Yeah, the first one like these. It’s like a series, it is so funny, but so freaky!" "What? They changed you in the first one?" "Yeah, what’s the big deal? It’s not like I’m a vampire outside of the dreams or anything. Heck, I didn’t even realize that I had such a crazy imagination!" "Faith, I need you to think very hard before you answer this, ok?" "Ok, but what…" "Just do it, ok?" "Fine." "Have you been feeling very thirsty, and then you took a drink, but it didn’t quench your thirst?"

I sat there for a moment thinking. I hadn’t really realized it before, but it had been happening a lot. I would get really thirsty, and then I would get something to drink, but I would still be thirsty. But it was off and on, this thirst, so I didn’t really care. "Now that you mention it…I have been really thirsty lately. I would take a drink, but I would still be thirsty. I didn’t think anything of it, because it would always go away."

Kristofer started pacing the room, muttering things under his breath. "Stupid…Good for nothing….What am I…." "Kristofer! What’s going on? Why are you freaking out?" Kristofer grabbed me, and pulled me to him, holding me so tight I could barely breathe. And in that instant, I realized, I did not need to breath. The air was nothing to me. I screamed. Horrible realization rushed over me. I was a creature of the night, a bloodsucking fiend.

Kristofer put his hand over my mouth. "Shush. We do not want the whole world to know." My screams ceased immediately. "How did this happen?" "They followed you through your dreams, and started feeding you images of where they were, and then they showed themselves." "Yeah, alright, but how…" "How what? How did they find you? I don’t have a clue! All’s I know is that this is bad, very bad. You weren’t supposed to cross over." "Wait! Hold up! Are you saying that you’re a vampire? And I meant how did they change me, it was only a dream?" "Yeah, I am a vampire. And they were able to make your dreams real, not that it would have taken much work on their part."

"What do you mean?" "Your dreams were already very realistic. That one where you thought that I was a vampire, well, it was rather true. I don’t know about the woman that was there, but I was real, and you hadn’t known about my being a vampire yet." "This is horrible!" "You think I don’t know that? This morning, when I was freaking out, I came in here and you were speaking in the language of he seer’s, and you were reciting that prophecy!" "I know! But then, I didn’t know what it meant! I swear, I thought it was just a dream! I tried to tell him that I wouldn’t be his Queen, but he wouldn’t listen! Was that house really mine?" "What house?" "This huge house, it was so beautiful, it was like a mansion! Roger said that they died on the roof." "If you really are the reincarnated Queen, then it is your house."

"But I don’t want to be her! If I was, I’d lose you!" I hugged him closer. I didn’t want to lose him, not now, not ever! "It’ll e ok, Faith, I promise." "How? I can’t stop myself from dreaming!" "I know a lady, she has a whole crap load of potions and stuff that will help you! We can go get something from her!" "Can we go now? I hate them! All of them!" "You don’t hate me." "You’re not in the ‘them’. ‘Them’ would be Roger and his minions and the Lord. He’s an evil conniving bastard!" Kristofer laughed. "Which one, Roger or the Lord?" "Both!"

~*~*~

The journey to Rasaline’s house was not very long. We only had to walk a couple of blocks. Her house was small, painted black, a huge contrast to all of the white houses that surrounded it.

Kristofer knocked on the door, and a slim girl, hardly older than me, came to the door. "Hey, Rasaline. We were wondering if you could do us a favor." Kristofer said. "It depends on what it is. If it is anything like what you wanted the last time you came here, forget it!" "No, it’s not about me, it’s about Faith." "You mean Isabella." "No, he means Faith. I legally changed my name, I am no longer Isabella!" I interrupted. "Pardon me, but word has gotten around about our Queen’s return. I assumed that you would go back to using your real name." "When you assume, you make an ass out of you and me. Besides, Faith is my real name!" "I meant the name you were given when you were born." "Anyways, can we come in and talk to you? We kinda have a problem." Kristofer said.

She led us through what appeared to be a living room, and to the kitchen. We all sat around the table. "If they have already changed her, there is nothing I can do to stop them." She said, before either of us had a chance to speak. "No, I know that, I was just wondering if you still made those potions that could take away your dreams for awhile." Kristofer said. "Yeah, I have some, but they won’t last forever, and the dreams will come back." "We know that! Do we look stupid to you? Give us the God damn potion and be done with it!" I said. "Faith, shut up! If you want her to help us, be nice!" Kristofer said to me.

"I’ll give you a potion, but only because I owe Kristofer a favor, and I’m in a good mood. Please, don’t come back to bug me when the potion runs out. I’m not going to give you another one." "Great. Thanks." "Wait here." Then she left the room, and went through a door to the left of the table. She came out holding up a clear bottle with a shimmering liquid inside that kept shifting from purple to black, and back again.

We took the bottle, and left. "I think she hates me." I said when we got back to Kristofer’s. "She does. But can you blame her?" I smacked his arm. "That wasn’t nice!" "I am deeply sorry! I didn’t mean to offend our Queen!" Then he bowed down to me, trying and failing to hide a smirk. "I am not the fucking Queen! I don’t care how many things about her apply to me!" "We all know your opinion on the matter, no need to bring out the old swear words!" "They all just make me so mad! I didn’t even do anything to Rasaline! She has no right to hate me!" "I think she does. You yelled at her for crying out loud!" "I yell at everybody, except sometimes you, so get used to it!" He laughed. "It is not funny!" "Oh yeas it is, Isabella!" "Don’t call me that! You are not helping!" "I just can’t resist!" "Get up off the floor! And stop crying! It’s not that funny!" "Here, take the potion, then you can get some rest, without icky demons making you their beloved Queen!" I smacked his arm. "Shut up!" "Would you like me to stay with you, to fight off the icky monsters?" "For that, you can’t stay in here!" "This is my room!" "And I care why?" "I’m staying!" "Fine, just don’t touch me!" He walked up to me very slowly, and stuck out a finger, then he poked my arm. "TOUCH!" "You act like a two year old!" "Yes, but you love this two year old!" "And?" "So I can get away with it!" "I’m going to bed now!"

I gulped down the potion, not entirely sure that it wasn’t poison. When I finished, nothing happened, I hoped that that meant that the potion hadn’t been poison. I climbed into bed, and got comfy. It wasn’t long after that that I fell asleep.
