Oh dear. One service game, one break. Lee smacks a serve for an ace, but inconsistent ground strokes lets Pistol Pete in. There's no gingerly touching of the rib now...

Sampras 1 - 0 Lee

Sampras, who's serving, loses the first three points to go 40-0 down. He looks all over the place and touches his dodgy rib just to let us know of his pain. Lee then lets him off and Sampras hangs on to win the opening game.

Pete Sampras has a dodgy rib and rickety form. But surely he'll be too good for Britain's Martin Lee - who looks more like a member of Shed Seven or Northern Uproar than a top 100 tennis player. Well, we'll soon find out...
