The Piece of Peace
Get up in the morning. Notice lovely blue sky. See beauty of river. How peaceful it is!
We believe that material things make our life peaceful. We tried it. We walked on same way. But we failed. Although we are living in peaceful nature around us, we find ourselves in hue and cry. Beauty and quietness of nature cant not satisfied us. We have struggled in our life. Perhaps instead of natural peace we want more material peace which is just illusion. Disturbance around us cannot allow peaceful life.
For the whole life we run after materialistic world – money, profit, cars, house and what not. You feel happy by owning a tall building in sky in first phase. When we grown up we find such tall buildings a burden in our peace. We crated nothing but disturbance.
"You are God’s peace and you have a duty to perform, that is, to spread this peace with you are to one and all. Live to spread this peace!" - Swami Chidananda
Be at peace with God, whatever you conceive him to be and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
Peace is not something, which is an opposite to conflict. It is not the outcome of struggle, of pain, of unhappiness, of suffering. Peace is like freedom. Freedom is the love of a thing for itself the love of something is not for what it will bring you, position, money, prestige, fame or what it will you will. It is something in itself.
"Yoga is a harmony: a harmony of eating and resting, of sleeping and keeping awake. This is the Yoga that gives peace from all pain."
If you can understand all these disturbance of living the joy, the unhappiness, the struggles, the jealousies. , Then out of that there will be the peace that is not an opposite. Peace is not something apart from the mind, but it comes when you understand all the difficulties. Out if that understanding, the mind becomes very simple, very clear, very innocent, and it is this innocence that is peace.
