Formula One: Stoddart Tells Mosley to Resign
Paul Stoddart has called for FIA president Max Mosley to resign following Sunday's fiasco at the US grand prix when only six cars raced.
Paul Stoddart, the Minardi formula one team owner, has called for Max Mosley to resign, claiming the FIA president's intransigence was to blame for Sunday's fiasco at the US grand prix when only six cars raced.
Yesterday he published a personal record showing how events unfolded and recalled that, during a meeting of team principals, Bernie Ecclestone had tried to persuade Mosley that a temporary chicane offered the best means of slowing the cars prior to the corner that had caused so much trouble. Mosley refused.
Stoddart said: "That refusal was, I believe, politically motivated. I feel he failed in his duty and that is why I have called for his resignation."
