Emma Watson – New Teenage Sensation!!

Emma Watson was born in Oxford, an old English town, on April 15. 1990. She was named after her paternal grandmother, who, after marriage, became "Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson." She lived the first 5 years of her life in France. Though she was born in France she doesn't speak much French except from what she learnt at school.

Her mother is divorced of her father and Emma lives with her 3 years younger brother, Alex, by the mother. She is an advocator, like her father too. Emma has dark blonde hair although it looks brown in the Harry Potter films. She has brown eyes and is roughly 5'3" tall. When not filming she's going to the Dragon's School in central oxford, where she wear's a yellow jumper what is the school uniform. She has finished her 8th year at Dragon's School and has nearly finished her 9th.

Emma's experience with acting did not start with Harry Potter. She has had highly praised performances in several school productions. At age 7, Emma won top prize for poetry recital in her school's Daisy Pratt Poetry Competition. She got a member in this theatre AG, because she wanted to get an actress since 3 year of life.

Before starting professional acting she did several school plays:
"Arthur the younger years" -> [Morgan la Fay],
"The Swallow and The Prince" -> [The Swallow],
"The Happy Prince" -> [unknown lead role],
"Alice in Wonderland" -> [the angry cook].

She also accomplished the first price in the Daisy Pratt Poetry Competitionof 1997 (when she was 7) at her school. And of course her biggest prestation so far was getting the role of Hermione Granger out of thousands of other girls.

She was filed to the casting of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" by her theatre teacher, cause he hold a lot of her acting talents. People from the casting office came to her Oxford primary school. Her head teacher nominated her and a couple of her friends to do the audition. At first she just went along for fun, but the more auditions she did the more serious it became. For the role of Hermione, the casting directors looked for a bossy person. Emma Watson seems to implement these requirements, because she seems to be really self-confident. She once dressed up as a witch for Halloween, but she had no idea that year later, she would be playing one in the Harry Potter movie. It seems to be that she is becoming a real film star, because she presages, that fame is not positive at all - or has she experienced that yet? Until she finally had a call at home saying she had received the Part. So she prompt got the role of "Hermione Granger". With lot of success she recorded the 2nd and 3rd Harry Potter movies too. Currently she is filming for "Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix"

To the question, what she wants her to wish, was her answer: "Probably I'll wish to have two friends, which stay - people with you can always be together and who don't scoot, because you are a film star."

This star of the Harry Potter movies is trying to keep up with her studies at her Oxford school while getting her head round being front page fodder on national newspapers. To keep up to speed on set, Emma and the other young cast members had a tutor and about four hour’s lessons a day. Emma is not as academia centric as her alter ego though. While Hermione is the resident Hogwarts swot, Emma prefers a more balanced approach to school. Her role models are Julia Roberts, Goldie Hawn, John Cleese and Sandra Bullock.

At 13, after being a teenager for just ten months, she placed tenth in the hottest teen female stars, February 2004. Emma has won the highly prestigious AOL award for Best Supporting Actress for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. She served on a jury to select the 2004 teenaged film-makers' "First Light Film Awards" ceremony held in London's Leicester Square. Other jurors included Pierce Brosnan, Kenneth Branagh, and Samantha Morton.
