Germany's main Jewish organisation said yesterday that it still supported "unreservedly" its deputy leader, a celebrity talk show host who is under investigation for alleged drug possession.
The head of the Central Council of Jews, Paul Spiegel, said: "As long as there is no final result of the investigation, the presumption of innocence continues to apply."
Michel Friedman, 47, has not made any public comment since prosecutors announced that traces of cocaine in packets had been found at his Frankfurt home and office.
