Snoop Dogg and The Game Slammed After Beating Incident

During the Seattle stop of Snoop Dogg and the Game’s How the West Was Won tour this past weekend, a man claimed that he was severely beaten by members of Snoop and The Game’s security entourage. Richard Monroe, 24, claims that he was invited to the stage by the two rappers near the end of the show. Monroe says that when he reached the platform, he was punched and kicked and his wallet, diamond earrings, cell phone, and watch were taken. He further claims that alcohol was poured on him during the beating that continued as he was dragged backstage. Said Monroe, "They beat me like a slave." No charges have been filed as of yet. Monroe gave the police his statement on Sunday night, and then released his story to the media on Monday.

Now begins the game of he said, we said. Snoop and The Game maintain that Monroe "rushed" the stage, which in turn spooked them. Footage of the concert was shot and aired by local television. In the video it is not apparent whether or not Snoop or The Game actually participated in the incident. What it does reportedly show is Monroe approaching Snoop from behind and placing his hand on the rap star’s shoulder. Then he is swarmed by a number of people. A fan did report, "The Game was throwing everything he had into it, and you could see [rapper] Oowee moving back and forward and kicking the guy. I was kind of shocked."

Meredith O’Sullivan, Snoop’s publicist, released a statement denying Monroe had been "invited" on stage. "Any person who jumps onstage at a concert has to be interpreted as a security threat and an immediate risk to both the performers onstage as well as the fans in the audience. Once a breach of security has been made, authorities are forced to take the proper measures to ensure safety," said O’Malley. A Hartford, Connecticut stop on Friday has been cancelled, reportedly due to the fallout from the incident.
