"Pierce, I need you here." Brink went straight to the point. "I told you, Detective," Pierce emphasized on his name, "If it has nothing to do with my lifemate, then get—" "But that’s exactly why I’m calling you." Brink interrupted. Silence then greeted him, making a bead of sweat slip down his forehead. "How do you know it’s really her?" Pierce questioned, but sounding a bit more interested. "Well, hmmm, let’s see… all the victims have been dismembered, the sin and the crime both written in blood, or red, and the crimes, so far, have been discrimination and hatred."

"Give me ten minutes." "I’ll give you five." "Deal." Pierce agreed, then he hung up the phone. Brink flipped his phone closed and turned to look at Kim, his assistant. "Now, here’s where it gets interesting." "Who did you call?" Kim repeated sounding very irritated. "His name’s Pierce and he is the Holy Virtue meekness, the opposing virtue to wrath, which is one of the seven deadly sins.

Sprawled red hair fanned out on the black silken pillow. Small whimpers emitted from lush, full, pinkish lips. Little tiny droplets of sweat were resting above the top lip, and other sweat drops danced on the forehead, slowly sliding down to a nose. Vision’s filled a head, causing nightmares.

"Wren," A black hooded figure announced, interrupting her nightmare, and revealing a sharp, white nail when the figure beckoned her with a finger. "Father please." Wren pleaded, tears forming in her radiant red eyes. "Come." Lucifer’s powerful voice commanded. While whimpering, Wren made her way over to the dark thrown, kneeling down in front of it. "I have unleashed you first out of all your sisters. Are you going to disappoint me, Wren?" "Never, father. Never." She quickly answered, tilting her head down, for respect, and so that she could look at the ground.

"Then why are you hesitating?" Came a curt hiss. "Daddy, you said for me to always be cautious about the burn mark—" "What," Lucifer baby talked her, "This burn mark?" Lifting his index finger, he aimed his pale nail at Wren’s left arm. A sizzling sound broke through the quietness, also awakening a shattering high-pitched scream. "Yes… this." Wren pushed the words out from gritted teeth, raising her left arm in the air. Lucifer smiled, revealing sharp, bright white teeth. "Ah yes," the smile faded, "your corresponding virtue." The symbols burned flame red on Wren’s arm, causing white-hot searing pain.

"You must be very aware of this, my dear, because if you meet up with this "lifemate" of yours," Lucifer spat out, "then I have lost you." "Father, I will not fail you." Wren promised, looking up at her dad. The smile returned as Lucifer patted his daughter’s head lightly. "I know you won’t baby cakes. Make daddy very proud." "I will." Wren said.

Then, Wren went back to her nightmare… the vision of her getting turned. But before it got too nasty, cold hands cupped her pinkened cheeks and shook her head, waking her up. "Wren, Wren, wake up." Wren opened her eyes and stared up at pink iris’s. "It’s time."
