Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath - Chapter One

The child of wrath, from Lucifer, has descended to earth. It is the root of murder, assault, discrimination, and, ultimately, genocide. But… wrath is opposed by one of the corresponding virtues… meekness.

Book One of Seven

Proverbs 6: 16-19:
There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to run into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.

"A mild answer calms wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."

"The punishment in Hell for wrath is being dismembered." "And, Detective, you know this for sure?" "Have you never read the Bible, or to size it down, Proverbs? Because if you’ve done that, plus your research, you’d know that by now." Detective Brink replied, adding the last bit of coffee creamer to his drink. "But there is no proof in that. What can we tell the people? We surely can’t tell the press—" "You can’t tell the press shit without getting a few studs up your ass." "True" Kim agreed. "Because no matter what we report, some religious freak, no offence," Brink added. "None taken" Kim reassured. "Some religious freak will think we are trying to impose something, so they’ll file a law suit, which will end up slowing down this case. So what can I say Kim? What do you want me to say? I can’t preach worth shit to people." "I know." Kim sighed, "This will be a hard one to crack." "Peh." Brink grunted, raising his eyebrows. He took another quick sip from his McDonalds freshly brewed coffee before taking one last glance at the scene.

Blood droplets had been dripping from the hanging white man, splattering the white carpeted floor. Thick, tightly woven rope encircled his neck, cutting off the oxygen to the man. The lifeless body still swayed from the wind that came in from the windows. The picture was creepy. It made shivers go up Brink’s back. Then, in front of the body was wrath in huge bloody words that were underlined. Brink suspected so that this was the last image the victim would see, and under the word wrath, was the blood written word discrimination. It was eerie seeing words written in blood, the victims blood, no less, on the wall. Truthfully, this was the bad times, the worst part of Detective Brink’s job. "Well, I can’t wait to see who’s next." He declared, then receiving a disapproving look from Kim. "Just you wait, there’ll be more."
