What's Your Soul Sign?

Rosemary Altea, whose work as a spiritual medium and healer has touched the lives of millions and been featured on Oprah and Larry King Live! and in People, Vanity Fair, and The New York Times, now uses her intimacy with the human soul as the touchstone for a powerful new way of looking at relationships. By figuring out which elemental force -- Fire, Earth, Air, Water, or Sulphur -- drives you and your loved ones, and by understanding how energy flow determines your specific soul sign, you can use this knowledge to find your ideal soul mate, compatible helpmates, and a more focused, more balanced you.

In Soul Signs, Rosemary reveals basic truths about our souls -- how they came to be, where they go when we die, and, most significant for success in our personal and professional lives, how they interact with other souls during our stay on this earthly plane. With Rosemary's inspiring guidance, you'll travel on a fascinating journey of self-discovery along the way to divining your own unique spiritual destiny.

What if you could read a loved one or a business associate as easily as a book?

Wouldn't it be helpful to anticipate how someone is likely to react to you in almost any situation? In Soul Signs, Rosemary Altea presents a fascinating system of soul typing that recognizes five elemental sources of human energy and thirteen distinct types of souls. With the aid of revealing self-tests, and by following Rosemary's lead, you'll learn how to type your friends, family members, and even celebrities to understand their true nature.

For example, the Warrior Soul can be intimidating, headstrong, and demanding, but her ability to stand her ground enables her to win battles and achieve positive results. Connected with the Earth, the Warrior loves company and is usually extremely social, but she will keep her inner feelings private until a bond of trust has been formed.

The Traveler Soul, for his part, shies away from commitment. As an Air sign he tries hard to steer clear of emotional baggage. His intent focus on career and personal growth can frustrate those close to him, but his unfettered perspective allows him to see life's big picture.

You'll love identifying yourself and others in the pages of this book. The Dreamer, the Visionary, the Peacemaker, the Seeker -- the pros and cons and ups and downs of all the different types of souls are explored in detail, along with insight into how to strengthen your relationship with each. The one exception is the Dark Soul, who is cut off from the light and energy of the world. Fire, Earth, Air, and Water signs are wise to steer clear of these sulphurous beings. Adolf Hitler, Ivan the Terrible, and such modern-day monsters as Ted Bundy are quintessential Dark Souls, but others can be found walking around and interacting with us in our daily lives. Rosemary tells you how to identify Dark Souls, and to resist their dark pull.

The evocative writing in Soul Signs will ring true to those who made Rosemary's provocative memoir The Eagle and the Rose an international sensation. Now she brings a new and welcome message to readers -- that self-acceptance through an understanding of soul signs is one of the greatest gifts we can give to ourselves.

Reviews

"I walked through the front door of where Ms. Altea has been staying a skeptic, my purse empty of handkerchiefs and tissues. I walked out two and a half hours later leaving dozens of sopping wet tissues behind . . . Maybe I had become a believer."

--Elaine Louie, The New York Times

Connecting the Dots

So which soul signs go best together? What energy group is our soul mate most likely to come from? To know the answers to these questions, we must understand how our elemental energies interact with one another. To know how or even if we'll get along with someone, we need to look closely at these elemental forces to divine their needs and their gifts.

For example, if you are a Fire sign, your most compatible group is Air.

If you are an Earth sign, your most compatible group is Water.

Fire signs and Earth signs need to be fed. Air signs and Water signs do not have that same need, and are more able to feed themselves.

Why? How does it work? In our first case, it is important to know that without air, fire cannot exist. And, in our second case, without water the earth becomes barren, dry, and cracked, and turns to dust. In an ideal world, then, when we are looking for our most perfect soul mate, we are looking for one which can feed us or which we can feed, so it is helpful to consider that Fire needs Air, and Earth needs Water. This is where we start.

It is also instructive to remember that for an Extrovert energy, the most compatible mate would be either an Extrovert or Central energy. For an Introvert energy, the most compatible mate would be either another Introvert, or a Central, balanced energy. Energies that naturally flow the same way, or are capable of flowing the same way, result in less conflict, less aggravation, and fewer misunderstandings -- important factors in any relationship.

Fire signs need to be paid attention to. They need accolades, emotional nurturing, and awareness from others of their highly sensitive nature.

Earth signs require participation. They need to interact with others, otherwise their planning and strategizing natures are unfulfilled.

Air signs float. They need space, a certain amount of freedom, and although they love to be with others, they are more than capable of doing their own thing.

Water signs also need space, space to flow, to channel their energy. They have an independent, free-flowing spirit, even though others may well depend on them.

In a perfect world, this is what your perfect soul mate would be:

This ideal combination of soul signs is what best connects the dots, is what best feeds us and gives us light. However, there are other combinations that also work well together and give us a good chance of happiness.

We know that our Central soul signs have the best chance of finding a compatible relationship because they are capable of going with the flow and are therefore more easily able to combine their energy with another soul's, without the excessive friction that our Extrovert and Introvert signs would have. Our Air signs and Water signs are also compatible. Balanced, free-flowing, they are more able to nourish themselves than our Fire and Earth signs can. Air floats over water. Water flows beneath air. These signs work well together without necessarily interacting. Neither has a need of the other, but each is capable of complementing the other's energy flow without taking away from it.
