Charlie Sheen Completes Turnaround with Wedding

The understated wedding, which would seem to mark the beginning of stable existence for Charlie Sheen, took place at the home of Gary David Goldberg the producer of Spin City. Sheen and Richards both wore custom designed outfits by Giorgio Armani for the Catholic ceremony. Richards’ sister, Michelle Richards, was maid of honor and Sheen’s long time friend, Tony Todd, stood in as best man. For years, Charlie Sheen has served as the poster boy for a dysfunctional Hollywood, constantly making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Sheen’s bad boy past includes domestic violence charges, a near fatal accidental drug overdose and a rowdy sex life that included many interludes with high priced call girls in Heidi Fleiss’s ring. Sheen, real name Carlos Irwin Estevez, hit it big in the 80s in such films as Wall Street, Major League and Young Guns. It was this early success that contributed to his rapid and highly-publicized demise. The allure of drugs, sex, and other vices, was simply to strong for the young actor to avoid. But despite the constant rhetoric about how drug rehabilitation and therapy does not work (especially in Hollywood), it seems that Charlie may have finally seen the light and has landed a beautiful bride in the process.

Sheen and Richards first met in 1993 on the set of Loaded Weapon 1, a spoof of Lethal Weapon that starred Sheen’s brother, Emilio Estevez. They became romantically linked after working together on the romantic comedy Good Advice and their relationship flourished when Richards made a guest appearance on Spin City. They became very serious over the past year and they were engaged in January. This is Richards’ first marriage and the second for Sheen, who also has a child from a previous relationship. The couple seems as happy and as grounded as any we’ve seen in Hollywood lately, so let’s hope they are able to make it work.
