No Drug Charges for Kate Moss

It has been reported that supermodel Kate Moss will not face drug charges stemming from her highly publicized drug scandal.

Nine months after pictures of Moss, 31, allegedly using cocaine hit the front page of a London tabloid it has been revealed that British authorities will not be able to press charges against the model. Despite the fact that videotape of Moss allegedly using the drug was turned over to the authorities, they will not be able to make a case against her. The Crown Prosecution Service’s London director of serious casework, Rene Barclay, said in a statement, "The film footage provides an absolutely clear indication that Ms. Moss was using controlled drugs and providing them to others. However, in the absence of any forensic evidence, or direct eyewitness evidence about the substance in question, its precise nature could not be established."

Seems Moss can breathe a sigh of relief. Her career seemed to hit the skids after the photos were released showing Moss indulging in what appeared to be cocaine at a recording session for her then boyfriend Pete Doherty and his band Babyshambles. She was dropped from several multi-million dollar contracts such as H&M, Chanel, and Burberry and wound up in a drug treatment center in Arizona. At the time Moss said in a statement, "I take full responsibility for my actions. I also accept that there are various personal issues that I need to address and have started taking the difficult, yet necessary, steps to resolve them. I want to apologize to all of the people I have let down because of my behavior which has reflected badly on my family, friends, co-workers, business associates, and others."

No worries for Moss who regained her popularity after completing rehab. She signed contracts with Virgin Mobile, Calvin Klein, and Nikon to name a few. She appeared on the covers of French Vogue and Vanity Fair. She even got a book deal and plans to write her memoirs. Seems as if she turned a bad thing into a good thing. Let’s just hope she stays clean and keeps Doherty out of her life as long as he is not clean.
