Sport. Or entertainment? You decide...

Sport or entertainment. We have all heard it before. But what exactly is WWF wrestling? Which category is it? Did Vince McMahon make a clever transition into sport and entertainment, or was it a move that should have been left well alone...?
Wrestling. Is it a sport? Or is it just plain entertainment. I'm sure that we have all heard this argument before. WWF seems to be the prime suspect towards this subject, and I for one don't know why. Wasn't this approach a clever move?

I've watched wrestling now for 10 years, since the days of Hulk Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior. The days when one could say, that all the WWF was known for was the sport. So why can it be said now that it's entertainment? Fair enough, we get storylines, as we do in our favorite TV programs. But at the end of the day, don't we still get the good old wrestling side too?

Okay, I do know that wrestling has come along way in the last decade because of the growth of its popularity. Like most things it needs to change. Wasn't Vince McMahon a genius at seeing this progression and moving in forward to what it is today? Or did he make a big mistake? Could this be why a minority laugh in the face of the WWF?

I for one don't care if there are storylines or not. I sit and I find it quite hilarious when the likes of Chris Jericho take the complete p*** out of Vince McMahon. Hey wouldn't we all like to go to our work and be able to call our boss an a*****e and not get fired? It would be entertaining to say the least wouldn't it? I also feel that this progression was necessary. Who knows what it might be like today, it could have even disappeared because it wasn't following its audiences' needs.

Maybe I am biased because I find it one of the best sports around. Yes, I do declare it a sport as well as entertainment. The sport side of course is the moves such as the Olympic Slam, Swanton Bomb, Moonsault, etc. This isn't entertainment. The entertainment is the storylines.

I think that this is an argument left best for the individual. If we all like the same WWF superstars, the same storylines, the same moves, wouldn't it be boring? At the end of the day what YOU think is the most important. Not anyone else.
