Slumber parties with a theme – You can have a "theme" for the slumber party such as , spooky slumber party, survival slumber party ,science or cooking slumber party to name a few.
You can have a "theme" for the slumber party such as , spooky slumber party, survival slumber party ,science or cooking slumber party to name a few. Or you can have Egyptian, Indian or Japanese Party Themes .All you need to do is bit of research on the cultural headlines to come up with creative décor, ethnic food and traditional crafts. For example If you choose Japanese theme party kids can play Fuki Warai, have a Japanese tea ceremony and create kimono out of packing(mailing) paper or simple origami project .Quick trip to a thrift shop you might even put together an easy costume pieces for each guests and have a multi cultural party theme.
You can come up with a theme considering your child’s interest, love a passion. Once you decide on the theme rest is easy.
I would highly recommend some type of creative craft activity in tune with theme .My old time favorite slumber party crafts are decorating pillow cases with fabric markers, making fuzzy slippers or designing night t-shirts. Last weekend we had a cake decorating activity at one of my events it was a total blast. You can have half sheet plain cake and prepare pasty bags and variety of candy for kids to design a cake for the birthday child.
Scavenger hunt (indoor or outdoor), pillow fights, board games, price is right (based on a TV show), bingo, twister , jokes & riddles , movies fallowed by the trivia game some of the classic slumber party games I can suggests.
Most important part of it all, plan the party with your child. Get her or him involved in ever aspect of the planning and make sure to have a clear vision on her or his needs and wants for the big day!
