Nnamani leads USA women to Volley Masters win over Poland
Ogonna Nnamani scored a team-high 16 points and Nancy Metcalf added 14 to lead four players in double figure, as the United States defeated Poland at the Volley Masters in Montreux, Switzerland.

The last time Poland and the United States met in women's international volleyball on Nov. 8, 2003, the Polish stunned then top-ranked USA in five sets (25-21, 31-29, 22-25, 21-25, 15-12) at the World Cup in Japan.
Team USA, currently ranked No. 2 in the world, rebounded from that loss and still managed to qualify for the 2004 Olympic Games by finishing third at the World Cup. On Wednesday night, the Americans found a measure of revenge by defeating Poland in four sets to remain undefeated at the Montreux Volley Masters.
Ogonna Nnamani scored a team-high 16 points and Nancy Metcalf added 14 to lead four players in double figures in the 19-25, 28-26, 25-20, 25-20 victory as the United States improved to 2-0 in Pool B.
Nnamani (Normal, Ill.) ripped 15 kills to go along with one service ace and a hitting percentage of .367 as Team USA rebounded from a set down to pull out the win for the second-straight match.
Metcalf (Hull, Iowa), who scored a match-high 22 points in a four-set win over Japan on June 8, added 13 kills and one ace in the victory over Poland and is currently the leading scorer in the tournament.
Keba Phipps (Las Vegas, Nev.) posted 12 points on 11 kills and one ace while Danielle Scott (Baton Rouge, La.) chipped in 11 points on nine kills and two aces for the United States, which plays Italy to conclude pool play on Thursday night.
Heather Bown (Yorba Linda, Calif.) added eight points on six kills, one block and one ace and setter Robyn Ah Mow-Santos (Honolulu, Hawaii) scored three points on a match-high-tying three blocks as Team USA improved to 4-3 on the season.
Kamila Fratczak scored a match-high 19 points on 17 kills, one blocks and one ace to lead Poland, which dropped to 0-2 at the tournament.
In other action, Cuba outlasted Russia in five sets and China needed five sets to hold off Germany. Italy and Japan did not play.
