J. Lo and Cris Judd Split
Jennifer Lopez and her husband, Cris Judd, have called it quits after less than nine months of marriage.
Sources say that the couple is now living apart and they have been rumored to have been on "the outs" for several weeks. No word yet on what caused the break-up, but sources say no other parties were involved. Although rumor has it that Sean "P.Diddy" Combs, Lopez’s ex, may have had something to do with the split.
A statement was released Monday by Combs’ publicist, Nathalie Moar, "Contrary to reports, Mr. Combs and Ms. Lopez are not together. However, he wishes her well during this difficult time." Alan Nierob, Lopez’s publicist, had no comment on the split. Lopez and Judd, a backup dancer and choreographer, met in November 2000 on the set of her video for "Love Don’t Cost a Thing." She was still with Combs, but they broke up a few months later and Lopez began dating Judd. They became engaged in June and wed in September. There was no indication of marital upset in last week’s edition of US Weekly where she said of Judd, "Chris brings serenity into my world. In the midst of the crazy storm that is my life, his love is what I need most of all." Uh-huh…
Lopez also defended her relationship with Combs in a recent interview with Elle magazine. She described their love as "genuine" and not "some kind of bullshit relationship." Maybe with his life on the up and up he seems a better candidate for partnership. Sources say that per a pre-nup Judd will walk away with $1 million and any "gifts" he incurred during the relationship. This is Lopez’s second failed marriage. She was married to Ojani Noa, a waiter at the time, in February of 1997 and they split after a year. He now manages Madre’s, Lopez’s newly-opened restaurant.
