Pete Doherty’s Airline Bust

Doherty and his Babyshambles bandmates were on an EasyJet flight bound for Barcelona for a performance tonight at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound Festival. Reportedly, Doherty was in the bathroom of the plane for longer than normal and the flight crew became nervous. A spokeswoman for the airline said in a statement, "During the flight our cabin crew became suspicious of a passenger who spent a lot of time in the toilet. When he came out they saw it was Pete Doherty. Members of the cabin crew then entered the toilet and found a syringe hidden in a bin, covered in blood. When questioned, Pete Doherty became agitated and aggressive."

The crew had police meet them at the gate once they landed. Police then boarded the place and reportedly a person that was traveling with Doherty went into the bathroom with a small bag and came out empty handed. Police then detained all of the passengers on board while their entire luggage was accounted for. The spokeswoman said, "Unfortunately, members of the Doherty party began throwing their bags around and swapping bags, and would not identify which bags were which. They were not being cooperative with the police and they did not seem to be taking the situation seriously." Police were forced to let all 142 passengers go, including Doherty, because their search did not reveal anything suspicious aside from the bloody syringe.

Doherty and his entourage were banned from traveling on EasyJet, but that is pretty much the extent of his punishment. The rocker has made a huge name for himself not for his musical talents, but for his absolutely amazing ability to get caught red handed with drugs and given a little slap on the wrist. Doherty has been in and out of jail and the court system that it seems like it has just become a big joke to him. It just doesn’t seem funny anymore. Doherty seems to be surrounded by people who just don’t seem to care that his addictions just could land him in jail…or worse…
