Four Islamist militants went on trial in Bali yesterday in connection with a triple suicide bombing on the Indonesian resort island last October that killed 20 people, including five foreigners.
The men are being tried separately under anti-terror laws that carry the death penalty.
Prosecutors said they had, variously, helped assemble and deliver the bombs, sheltered the alleged mastermind, Noordin Top, and set up a militant website detailing potential targets.
The court heard that Top had said in a video the plot was revenge for the deaths of Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan.
