Money from Heaven?

Is this some new spiritual gift?
Although I could relate incidents from a myriad of circumstances over the last 40+ years of trusting God for my needs, I want to relate this one: One Friday evening in Temple, Texas I was walking through a busy shopping mall. We are talking about thousands upon thousands of people of all ages from all walks of life. As I was walking, there is front of me was $23 laying on the tile floor about 10 feet away. Since I have such excellent vision when it comes to spotting green stuff, I came closer and closer to it as everyone was walking merrily on their way, stepping on it, around it, through it. In seconds I was amazed as I was finally standing on top of it. Of course the definition of a split second is what it takes to bend down and become the "instant winner" of $20 and three $1's. For those of you who are calling the Temple, Texas Mall office "lost and found" right now, I am sorry to say I already spent it.

In tracing my memory back over the last year or so of my life, God seems to have thrust me into a new calling - or rather - a new gift. On a pleasant Saturday morning in a Texas town I was going door to door in an apartment complex, distributing my Gospel of John posters to people (details about this poster found on www.DavidFilm.com). There, on the sidewalk was a $10 bill. Thirty minutes later, in another location, on another sidewalk - was $15. God must have given me the vision that birds have when spotting worms in grass from 100 feet - because a couple of months ago, I spotted that familiar, unique shade of green in a pile of dead leaves....another $20. A couple of weeks ago, in a ditch by the side of the road, $5.

I know I am exhorted to "Keep looking up", but I seem to be doing amazingly well by looking DOWN. What is so interesting about the way God does things in our lives is that we can NEVER second-guess Him. Just about the time we think we have some "formula" He changes his techniques. Never in my life have I ever been privileged to finding at least $73 like this in a little over a year. To my recollection, finding even a $1 or a quater or dime laying around would be a "class A" miracle. Whatever this new spiritual gift is in my life - I hope it lasts.
