My Lovely Boy

It hurts him more to know he hurt me, but he can't help hurting me...
It doesn't take long to realize,
Once you look in his deep eyes,
That this hurts him more than me,
That it beats him around to see
Each tear fall from my falling face,
At such a slow, crushing pace,
And know that these are his own,
His creation, and his alone,
This time he knows the blame is his,
He is the sole owner of this,
He knows that I must face it too,
This time the goodbye will be true,
It is true that his love I will miss,
That I'll cry to think of our last kiss,
No more pain after so much joy,
I'll now say adieu to my lovely boy...
