The Donnell

An autobiography in poetic form...
Oh, I knew the Donnell…
A quite cranky old bitch.
She yelled and she screamed,
And she scratched when she itched.

Yes, I knew the Donnell…
The eccentric old loon.
She shrieked and she cackled,
And she bayed at the moon.

Right weird was the Donnell…
Very crafty and sly.
But have dealings with her
And be looked in the eye!

Some damned the Donnell…
They knew not she was true.
They cursed the day she was born…
Said that the sun turned blue.

None knew the Donnell, save me.
She laughed and she cried.
She ran and she dreamed.
She loved God till the day she died.

One man dared the Donnell…
They said he’d only last a while.
She gave him her heart.
He was the mighty Carlisle.
